The Past Experience

Saturday, October 18, 2008, 7:59 PM Jalan Raya on Tuesday I woke up at about 9am to prepare for this important outing. It's my first time going with my malay friends to Jalan Raya, and the feeling that I had is nervous and excited. Izyan had arranged for me to borrow a Bajung Kurung from Azhar to wear it during the activity. I was shocked when I heard that I have to wear that. I wonder how will I look when I'm in that traditional outfit. I told Izyan that I will be laughing at myself the whole day when I'm wearing that. Haha. Had my breakfast and off I went to get my outfit. It was kind of huge for me, but it's meant to be that way. And I told Azhar, your S size to me is M size. Haha. Understand? So Azhar and I went to meet Izyan first befor meeting the rest. I was worried about people staring at me while walking to his house. Can you imagine, a chinese wearing a Bajung Kurung which is not often seen in Singapore? Haha. After meeting him, we went off to take bus 12 to Tampines Mart area, where Asyraf and Benji's house is. During the bus, my outfit attracted alot of people's attention. I'm really not used to that kind of staring. Once we reached there, we met Firdaus and Zahrin. They were with us too. So we headed to Asyraf's house first. I guessed the mother wasn't expecting my arrival when I went there. She was shocked the moment she looked at me. But nevertheless, she welcomed me with a smile, meaning that she doesn't mind me entering the house. I sat in the living room with the rest and had some traditional snacks and beverages while viewing a movie shown in the television. When we were about to leave, Asyraf suddenly passed me a Green Packet! I was stunned. I didn't expect to received it at all as my mind was just to visit them only. Oh well, I just accepted it. After that, we went to looked for Benji as he was following us too. I wonder how he would looked like in the Bajung Kurung. When he came down to meet us, the others were laughing. They thought why his Bajung Kurung{Asyraf's one} got colour contrast. After that, we went to take Bus 28 to visit Ashari's house. When we reached the bus-stop near Tampines Library, we were told by him that his house was actually two bus-stops before here! So we turned back and walked to his house. As usual, we had some snacks and then chit-chat around. We watched the World's Craziest Videos and it was quite hilarious, entertained us alot. The malays had their prayers there and after that, Zainul came to meet us. Once they were done, we headed off to Farah's house. When we were at her door, the other were standing outside and not entering, so I decided to went in first. The moment I entered in, I saw alot of people which are strangers to me and I was totally stunned. No need to say also you will know that they were stunned to see me.Her house was furnished beautifully, though it was small. I was quite fascinated by it and I thought that I would want to be an Interior Designer. I saw Khairunnisa and Nasuha present at the scene also. After awhile, we decided to head to Nasuha's house by means of SBS bus. I ate quite abit of snacks at her house and we took group photos. I really enjoyed the trips to these houses. So after that, the girls and boys separated from each other, and they illustrated it just like how Singapore and Malaysia separated during 1965. Hahas. So we continued the journey to Zainul's house. We had our dinner there and it was appetising. So we slacked around there and took photos, and Azhar always like to capture my face with his camera. I disliked his camera flash, it's so glaring towards my eyes. After that, we took off and headed to Zahrin's favourite house which is Ashikin's house. My mood was down halfway because of some reasons, and I don't wished to talked about it. Even if I said it, would 'they' understand? It was until when we headed to Firdaus's house then my mood starts to brighten up. The malays were eating while Firdaus and Zahrin were singing Karaoke. We were listening to Firdaus singing and thought his voice was great until Zahrin starts to open his mouth and performed his 'good' vocals. We were laughing while Zahrin was singing. Hahas. It's like a smooth wave and suddenly it starts to become a curvy and unsmooth wave. But actually Zahrin can sing very well, if he knows how to control his vocals properly. After this hilarious scene, we headed off to Azhar's house which is a few storys above my flat. It's been like a millenium since I've visited his house? Abit too exaggerating, maybe about 3 years. His mother still remembers me and she welcome me warmly. My appetite suddenly gets better and I ate quite alot there. His mother prepared noodles and it was delicious. We were kind of rushed for time as we needed to be back home by our parents. So we headed to the final house of the day which is Izyan's house. We were sitting at his living room watching 'the Noose'. It's a really lame show. Then we had some noodles again. We were also viewing and relieving some of the photos that we took during Jalan Raya. I don't even want to look at my own face. I looked so different from what I see in photos as compared to mirrors. I guessed I'm not cut out for taking photos of myself. And I remember one photo which they zoomed in with me and Ashikin's face. I was laughing as they told Zahrin that he has another rival to fight with. Hahas. How funny is that. So this marks the end of the outing with them. We went home in separate ways, while Azhar and I walked home. It was indeed an unforgettable and enjoyable experience for me to visit the Malay homes during Hari Raya period. I really want to thanked Izyan for asking me along during this outing.
